Hello. I'm vee (he/him or she/her), an author under the pseudonyms veellainous and fyepertine on Archive of Our Own (AO3). I have been writing fully in English since 2017 and writing fanfictions on AO3 since 2021. I also write original works that I have never posted anywhere, but might start posting here.
In the last few years, I noticed the rising number of consumers treating creators as a content-producing machine instead of humans sharing our works out of the desire to connect with others. The fact that social medias have taken over the spaces where we can create freely makes works that used to be shared out of the goodness of our hearts become something that's expected. Required, even. And this sense of entitlement has become so widespread, so normalized, it brings a bitter taste in my mouth.
So, this is me attempting to reclaim my writing and put them all in a web space that wholly belongs to me. Having my own web space also allows me to share thoughts, commentaries, behind-the-scenes, or even unused drafts of my writing projects. This space isn't only an archive, but also something to help me keep a record of my works the way I picture them to be.
Writing is fun. It has always been fun long before I started sharing the works on social medias to be consumed. It is high time for me to enjoy it again under my own rules. After all, my audience is supposed to be, first and foremost, me. Anyone beyond that is just a bonus.
